A PROPOSAL TO MR. ASQUITH

London, May 12,

With a view to constituting a' national Ministry during the war, Mr. F. H. Booth (Liberal) in the House of Commons asked Mr. Asquith (the Prime Minister) whether he would consider the desirability of admitting leadiiiE members of various parties into the Ministry.

Mr. Asquith said the Government-was greatly indebted for the assistance given b- the leaders of all parties, but 'it did not contemplate their admission to the Ministry. '
