APPOINTED YESTERDAY. It is customary at the meeting at which the Mayor is installed to bring down the suggested new committees.. This was done by the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) without protest, save on the part of Councillor John Fuller, who said that it should be the work of the council to appoint its own committees. No change, however, was made,"save" that Councillor Fuller and Councillor. Hildreth change places in one case, tho latter accepting a seat oil tho By-Laws Committee whilst Councillor Fuller went on to the Leaseholds Committee. Power Stations and Tramways.—Tho 1 Mayor, Councillors Barber, Fitzgerald, Godber, Frost, Hutcheson, Thompson. Public Health and Markets.—Councillois Atkinson, Fitzgerald, Bush, Godber, Veitch, Bennett, Wright. By-Laws, Firo Brigade, and Street Lighting. —Councillors Barber, Hildreth, Bush, Bennett, M'Kenzie, Luckie, Thompson. ; Reserves and Public Gardens.—Conncillors Barber, Bush, Frost (chairman), Luokio, M'Kenzie, Thompson, Wright. Legislation • and Reclaimed ■ Lana Leases. —Councillors Atkinson,.
