SUNDAY CONCERT
ft ■ A very successful Sunday concert was given in His Majesty's Theatre last night by the Wellington Corporation Tramways' Band, assisted by the Lyric Four. The theatre was well filled and it was evident from the fact that practically every item was encored that the audience appreciated the entertainment. Unfortunately one of the principal items of the programme, the drum duet "Test Piece," to have'been given by Messrs. Pago and Jacobs, had to be deleted owing to tho adsence of the side-drums. The band, under the able conductorship of Mr. G. W. Bowes, was heard in an inspiriting march "20th Century," a selection "Auber," and another March "Comrades." The Lyric Four, Messrs. H. F. Wood, W. Goudie, Jennings and Connors wore heard to advantage in a vocal quartet,_ while two of the quartet, Messrs. Goudie and Wood, wero heard in solo numbers. Mr. W. Jennings was the accompanist for the vocal numbers.
