+ CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES Karori 3, United 2 University ...... 4 St. Augustine's 0 Wellington ... 5 insuranoo 0 The best hockey day yet this season was experienced at Karori on Saturday afternoon. There was a big muster of players, and the games were all keenly contested. The most interesting senior game was the encounter between Karori and United,' the former snatching a hard-earned victory. Insurance fought gamely with Wellington, but were defeated, while St. Augustine's, strange to say, fell easy victims to University. United made persistent efforts to even up, and very soon were succssful, Lyons | scoring. Karori were again in the lead, | however, ere half-time oame, and Loader ' was responsible for this goal. The second | spell saw United again even matters, Lyons scoring. From that onward tie game was a most exciting one, and eventually G. Davies secured the winning goal for Karori. Mr. J. C.
