THREATENED HOLD-UP OP RELIEF SUPPLIES
TROUBLE OVER FORCED LABOUR. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copj-riffht.) Amsterdam, May 6. Germany has threatened to prohibit the continuance of distress relief for Belgium if the railway men pereist in their refusal to work under Germans. The Germans have already arrested a burgomaster and Senator Nivellas for continuing to give relief against orders. "POUND DAY" FOR BELGIAN SOLDIERS. London, May 6. Boroughs throughout the United Kingdom are holding a "Pound Day" for collecting food and fruit for the Belgian soldiers in the trenches and hospitals.
BELGIAN FUND NOW TOTALS £179,000. (By Telegraph—Press A6sn.—Copyright.) (Rec. May 7, 6.50 p.m.) London, May 7. New Zealand's contribution of £27,988 has raised tho Belgian Fund to £179,000. The contribution included the Government's April contribution and Lord Liverpool's £12,988.
