WAIHI KEEFS-GIGANTJO. The report of the mine manager of tho Waihi Reefs-Gigantic for the .past week is as follows: The contractor for crosscuts in 1000 ft. lovel has advanced the north crosscut 20ft. and S.E. end 21ft., total for week, 41ft. Tho north face is changeable and not so hard to drill as last week, and on tho whole shows improvement, and is now out 166 ft. from shaft. In S.E. end the country is mild, -blocky andesite, contoining abundance of mineral pyrites; this face is now out 309 ft. from chamber at shaft; both faces may bo said to be in good reef country and nearing the position as given by surveyor as the approximate line of Empire ajid Royal reefs. With the exception of a little adjustment required at winding engine and Evans pump, all machinery is working well.
