GERMANY'S FATAL POLICY OP PAPER MONEY London, May 5. Mr. Lloyd George, in his Budget speech, declared that Germany's methods of financing the war by issuing paper and selling securities would prove fatal in the long run.
The "Evening Standard" states that the German note circulation is only half covered by coin and bullion. Notes of the value of 100 marks have fallen to 85 marks, and even touched 78 in Holland, while many of the Danish banks aro refusing them altogether. SHIP WORKERS TO REPORT DAILY ADMIRALTY TO HAVE FIRST CALL London, May 3. The conference of Clyde shipowners and employees at Glasgow decided that tho men must report themselves daily,, and that the Admiralty shall have first olaim to their services.
