INCREASE ON PRODUCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association..) Dunedin, May 3. It -was reported in commercial circles to-day that an increase in intercolonial freights is to be looked for in the near future. It is stated, however, that general rates on intercolonial cargoes, except in one or two special instances, are to be unchanged. The only alteration likely to take place is in freight.! on produce which is being carried ai rates that in proportion to its bulk and to cost of handling are considerably lower tha,n those charged on ordinary merchandise.
