JOURNALISTS' INSTITUTE
The annual meeting of the Wellington branch of the Institute of Journalists was held at the "Evening Post" office yesterday afternoon, the branch chairman, Mr. F. J. Earle, presiding over an attendance of twelve members. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow Chairman, Mr. _F. J. Earle; secretary, Mr. J. R. Smith; treasurer, Mr. W. Freeman; committee, Messrs. W. Phipps and S. S. Baker ("Times"), F. Marshall, L. Fanning, E. E. Muir, F. K. Reeves, and W. Guerin ("Post"), C. J. M'Kinnon and A. N. Field (Dominion), P. Galviu; auditor, Mr. C. G. Weston; delegates to the council, Messrs. C. J. M'Kinnon and F. K. Reeves. The meeting was followed by the annual general meeting of the institute, the president, Mr. L. S. Fanning, in the chair. Officers wore elected as follow:— President, Mr. F. J.' Earle;;'vice-presi-dents, Messrs. C. A. Marris (Christchurch), P. Galvin (Wellington), and Moore (Now Plymouth); general secretary, Mr. A. N. Field; treasurer, Mr. W. Freeman. The annual subscription was fixed at 7s. 6d. A committee consisting of Messrs. Earle, Fanning, Field, Smith, and Muir was sot up to go into the question of reviving the "New Zoaland Journnl'st."
