Webb, M.P., sent tho following telegram to the Minister of Mines:— "Newspaper reports and a telegram from the Runanga Council indicate that the State mines aro only working part time, while, private company mines are working full time. We understand this state of affairs is due to unsatisfactory shipping arrangements. Miners and the business people of Grey Valley are suffering in consequence thereof, and the people of the Dominion are 'getting short supplies of State coal for domestic and industrial purposes. The undersigned members of Parliament urge that something be immediately done to stop any attempt to stifle the Stilts coal mines."
