TE RURTJ CLUB.. The Te Ruru Yacht Olub held a race on Saturday for launches for the rose bowl presented by Mr. V. J. who is now with the Expeditionary Force. Great interest was taken in the race as it brought together the fastest launches in Wellington. The course was from Clyde Quay Wharf to • Jerningham, tlience to the club's buoy off Ngahauranga, back to Jerningham, thonco to the starting line, the distance being eight knots. The Rapier made the fastest time, averaging fifteen miles per hour. Unfortunately the Honaki's clutch slipped, and this, was responsible for her losing bo mo time. Following were the handicaps and finishing times White and Perrard's Bapier, scr., 3.35 GOsec. p.m. Mr. Palmer's Waioni, scr., 3.37 33sec. p.m. Howard Bros.' Ronaki, scr., 3.46 p.m. Mr. Dennis's Phyllis, 36min., 4.11 2isec. p.m. Result: Phyllis, first; Rapier, secMr. Johnston, of the Motor Boat Club, acted as handicapper. This finishes the club's races for the season.
