THE MARCH-OUT
OF sth REGIMENT AND NATIONAL RESERVE. In order not to interfere with the School Committee elections and the patriotic entertainment at tlio Town Hall, the parade of the oth (Wellington) Regiment and , the National Reserve, arranged originally for this evening, has been postponed until to-morrow (Tuesday] evening. The Territorials and rifle clubs' corps are to assemble at the Buckle Street Drill Hall at 7.45 p.m., and tho various units of the reserve are to attend where directed by their officers, imd are to assemble m Kent Terrace, near the Basin Reserve, at 7.30 p.m. The parade has been arranged to commemorate the entry of _ New Zealand's forces into the fighting line m Europe, and in recognition of tho fine spirit New Zealand is showing m connection with the dispatch of troops abroad to uphold the honour of the Motherland and the prowess of her sons overseas. The column, which will be headed by the band of the sth 'Regiment and the regimental drums, will march through the City by way of Kent Terrace, Vivian Street, Cuba Street, Manners Street, Willis Street, and Lambton Quay to the grounds of Parliament Buildings, where patriotic addresses will.be delivered by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defence, and the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke). The desire has been expressed that the men, who have enrolled for enlistment in future reinforcements, and have not vet been called up, should take their place in the column.
