CHURCH MEETINGS

ST. ALBAN'S PARISH, EASTBOURNE The fourth annual report of the St. Alb'au's Parish was presented to the parishioners at the Eastbourne Hall on Thursday evening. The statements of account show a splendid increase in. the oertories from £136 19s. to £170 Hb. sd. These figures include special offertories which amounted to £28 12s. 3d., as compared with ■ £15 18s. Id. for the previous year. The donations to in the offertories from £136 19s. to £170 14s. 6d. for the year, being an increase of £30 lis. 3d. After tho adoption of the report the eloction of officers resulted as follows: —Vicar's warden, Mr. Thos. Ballinger; parishioners' warden, Mr. J. D. Avery: vestry captain, P. St. J. Keenan; Messrs. C. A. Baker, K. L. Button, A. G. Ballinger, F. J. Ohittey, W. H. Didsbury, W. R. 0. Macpherson, S. Bromilly, and C. Russell; auditor, Mr. T. W. F. Marsdcn. After parish matters had been concluded. refreshments wore provided, and there was an excellent little entertainment of musical sketches, monologues, and recitations rendered by Miss Owen Shepherd, Miss Shepherd, and Rev. E. 1. Sola.

PAROCHIAL DISTRICT OP MARTON. The annual meeting of - parishioners of the Parochial District of Marton was hold in St. Stephen's Schoolroom, Mar-: ton, on Thursday. The churchwardens presented their report, which showed that there was a sßght increase in the offertories. Tho bank overdraft now stood at £327 7s. Bd.j an inorease of £157 Bs. lid. since last year, this being caused by repairs and alterations to the church (£B7 9s. Id.), and vicarape (£l5B 18s.). There was also a bility of £26 10s. for panelling the cast windows. They expressed the nope that no extraordinary expenditure would occur for some time, and that the parish debt might be steadily The thanks of the parish were again due to the Sewing Guild, who had provided the vestry with £78 Is. 3d., and thus enabled the overdraft to be swept down. The special offertories showed an increase of £26 15s. lid. For the poor of Great Britain, Ireland, and Belgium £43 Bs. 4d. had been given through the offertories. Mr. W. C. Kensington reported on behalf of a committee Ret up last year for considering the establishment of a fund-for a new church, that: the excellent work which had been done in consolidating the foundations of the present building made such a fund unnecessary at present. The vicar reported that the Selwyn Guild for the Maori Mission, aud the St. Barnabas Guild, both senior and. junior, for the Melanosian Mission, had both dono well. The former raised £45 15s. ljd., and the latter £38 19s. 3d., which,_ with the Bpeeial offertories and donations, made fc'ho > total for these missions from the parish for Maori.work, £37 17s. Hid., for Melanesia £51 18s. Id. In all £109 16s. Old. The following officers were elected: —Vicar's churchwarden, Mr. A, T. Alloway; parishioners', Mr. E. T. Wilde; vestry, Messrs. ]£. Awdry, G. ALL SAINTS' CHURCH, KILBIRNIE. The annual meeting of parishioners of All Saints' Church, Kilbirnie, was held at the Kilbirnie Hall, on Thursday. Mr. Geo. Flux, parishioners' churchwarden, in presenting the annual report and balance-sheet, remarked that the statement;' of finances showed a satisfactory state of affairs, largely as a result of the work of the Ladies Guild, which contributed in all about £67 10s. as the result of sales of work. General offertories for the year, and offertories for missions were in excess of the, previous year. In addition a sum of £20 16s. 4d. had been subscribed for the Belgian Relief Fund. The financial year ended with a credit balance of .£8 2s. lid. _ Mr. Christie, in proposing the adoption of the report, commented on the valuable, assistance rendered by the ladies,_ and the fact that they have no voto in parochial matters; The meeting expressed its regret at the early departure of Rev. H. G. Blackburne and Mrs. Blackburne to take up work in All Saints' Parish, Palraersjon North, whilst at the same time congratulating them oil the call to this important parish. Rev. H. G. Blackburne, in replying, bespoke a warm welcome for Rev.' J. H. Sykes, who was .soon to take charge of Kilbirnie Parish, and expressed his own personal jegret at leaving the work in Kilbirnie district after five and a half years. Officers were appointed as follow: — Vicar's churchwardon, Mr. G. T. Taplin; parishioners' churchwardon, Mr. Geo. Flux; vestrymen, Messrs. C. H. Seville, J. E. Lynex, W. H. Stones, L. Harrison, J. S. . ST." THOMAS'S. The annual meeting of St. Thomas's Church was hold last night, tho Rev. W. Fancourt presiding. The annual report and balance-sheet, which wero adopted, showed that tho attendances at St. Thomas's and St. Cuthbert's had been satisfactory, and the donations had been well maintained. The financial year ended with the small debit balance of £7. Special contributions wore given for painting the church, and this had been carried out. The stained glass window for the east end of. the church had been made possible by the generous donation of £80 by- Mr. E. Collie, which with the balance in hand would cover the cost of a suitable window. Tho total receipts amounted to £795 19s. 2d. A special electrically worked lantern was donated to the parish during tho year, for lantern services. and donations were made towards tho vicaiago fund. 'Illa Rov. W. H. Walton spoko of tho work at the Berhamporo ond of the parish, where £50 had been worked off the building debt during the year. Officers wero elected as follows: —Vicar's warden, Dr. J. H.
