WOUNDED SOLDIERS' FUND
THIS AFTERNOON AND MONDAY. There being no counter-attraction, -it is likely that the Rugby attractions this nftemoon will be attended by one of the largest crowds seen at the Athletic I'ark for many years. Apart from the deiiire to support a fund on behalf of New Zealanders, patrons will no doubt recognise that the fare promised is sufficient to , attract 1 attention. Those who were present at the performance recently promoted by the railwaymou _ wore strongly impressed with the exhibition of bayonet .fighting given by a. squad from Trentham, this being on new lines hitherto not seen here, and the dexterity shown with this weapon was surprising. By courtesy of the Camp Commandant a team from the camp 'Will be pveiont at the Town Hall, and exhibitions will ■be given similar to those previously seen, and doubtless this item alone will attract many people who missed the railwaymon's night. This afternoon's performance'commences with a costume procession organised by members of the Natives' Association, and the Trentham and the Wellington representative Rugby teams will meet at the Lambton Station and accompany the procession. The Natives' Band, under Lieutenant Herd, will play selections, this afternoon and also on Monday evening. An attractive souvenir programme has been issued, and will be on sale throughout to-day and Monday evening.
