Dr. Alotta Jacobs, m her opening address at the conference, said that the men considered the economic results of the war, but the women considered its grief, pain, and misery. Woman's votes would enable international disputes to be referred to arbitration.—("limes" and Sydney "Sun" Services.) WOMANLY FEELINGS AND RACE HATREDS. . (Rec. April 29, 10.20 p.m.) The Hague, April 29. The delegates to the Women's Peace Conference included representatives of belligerent and neutral nations in general. Madame Denre expressed the hope that at, the conclusion of the war, when a durable peace was declared a woman-ly-feeling would ariso above race hatred. The German delegate said that her countrywomen stretchcd out their bands in friendship and international love. The sentiment was reciprocated by the British delegate. The Hungarian delegate said that women would be unworthy of the coming franchise unless they proved themselras by doing something to abolish war. The Italian delegate declared that the horrors of war were approaching her country. Men were starving owing to the stoppage of trade and were demanding to be sent to tlie front, where at least they were certain of food. Even',the Italian Peace Society had declared in favour of war.
