BRITISH LIQUOR BILL
DIRECT ACTION TO BE AVOIDED. (Rec. April 25, 5.5 p.m.) London, April 24. Mr. Lloyd George's drink proposals are modest. Besides a further limitation of the hours, magistrates and municipal authorities will he called upon to co-operate with the military to fully carry out the Defence of the Realm Act. Thus the responsibility of direct Government action will be avoided.
