RUSSIAN MAIN ADVANCE
NOW IN HUNGARY. (Rec. April 26, 1.20 a.m.)

The whole line of the main Russian advance in the Carpathians is now in Hungarian territory, the capture bf trenches on a height dominating Hill 1001 having brought the loft wing across the frontier. The front extends forty miles between two railways, which cross the Carpathians at Mezolaborcz, west of the Uszok Pass.
In the East, the Russians, while awaiting favourable weather for an advance, are. fighting actions daily. They occupy the upper.waters of the majority of the rivers running into Hungary. The success near Hill 1001 facilitates the conquest of the Uszok region by reducing the impor">i".ce cf. HUI 992, which s still in .he enoiij's hands.
