THE ARTICLES IN WELLINGTON. As has been stated, Wm. Webb has notified Hannan that he has covered his deposit of £100 for a race for the championship of New Zealand, but will not bo able to row until September owing to the fact that lie has taken up contract work which will keep him employed for some time to come. Hannan has consented to row in. September, end the articles for the race, prepared in Wanganui, have been forwarded to Wellington for signature. They will bo returned this week, and Hannan will take lip some employment until it is time for biin to resume training. The race is creating a good deal of interest in rowing eircies here, owing to tho fact that Hannan belong to Wellington, and- that Webb—a onetime champion of the world—may yet attempt to recapture the major title. Should he beat Hannan he will not want for matches. .
