MIRAMAR ELECTORS' ASSOCIATION

. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Miraqiar Municipal Electors' Association ' was held last evening in the ' Town Hall, Miramar. Tljere was a fair 'attendance of members, over which the Mayor (Mr. Townsend)' presided. A letter was read, from Councillor Underwood apologising for his unavoidable absence/ ana wishing the association good fortune. Dr. Edith Huntley (president), m reading the annual report, stated that the annual meeting had been postponed in August last year on account of the war. She enumerated several advantages the borough had obtained through the activity .'of the 'association. ..The speaker, characterised the period just ended ae a good one, and entreated the residents of Miramar to take more interest in the borough's affairs by becoming members of the association. Subsequently Dr. Huntley invited those present to express their views on various subjects connected with the welfare of the district. She spoke at length regarding the improved tram service, and said that if she was elected to the council at tho forthcoming elections she would do all in her power to help the electors push the district ahead.

Mr. W. E, Tomlin, secretary and treasurer, reading _ the balance-sheet, said that the association was fortunate in having a credit balance. Other speakers were Mr. Totvnsend (Mayor), and Councillor Stone, both of whom are standing for le-election. The election of officers resulted as follows :—President, Dr. Edith A.. Huntley (re-elected); vice-presidents, Meßdames Blair and James, and Miss Naylor; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. E. Tomlin (re-elected). On account of the attendance not being up to expectations, the election of the committee was only partially completed. ' During the evening tho Miramar Municipal Brass Band played several selections;
