BRITISH, ECONOMICAL, MODERATE- • PRICED SPLENDIDLY-FINISHED— THE NEW HUiIBEE, IMPROVED MODEL. As most people are now aware, there is at present a difficult!' in obtaining shipments of motor-cars from Britain, owing to the big contracts placed with the automobile firms by the British and Allies' War Offices. We have been exceptionally fortunate in assuring the delivery, during the next two or three mouths, of a number of the latest model 10.'!3 h.p. Ifumber touring cars. Two of these cars, the advance-guard of further and much larger shipments, have just been delivered at our Christchurch garage ex s.s. lonic. One of these has been sold, and the other is still on view. It is a beautifully finished four-seater car, the body colour being a rich warm brown, and the fittings plated. A neater or more refined-looking car has never been imported to this country. Although light—tho weight ready for the road is but IScwt.—the car is of standard wheel gauge, and the seats are of ample width. The car is remarkably economical in running. Mr. i>. R. Stedman, our Dunedin agent, who has sold about fifty Hunibers, and who has drivon the first of tho 10-23 h.p. four-seater Humbers landed here over 15,000 miles, veports to us that the oar has averaged miles to tho gallou ot' petrol, and jjlOO miles to the gnllon of lubricating oil. The cost of running per mile, including petrol, lubricating oil nn<l depreciation of tyrea, Ims been estimated at under ljd. Although so economical the car is a grand hill-climber, and capable of a speed of up to 50 miles an hour on the flat. The price of this car, completely equipped and ready for the road, with fivo Sankey detachable wheels, shod with Miohelin tyres, C.A.V. electric lighting set with acetylena headlights, hood, wind-screon, Smith clock, and Jones speedometer, tools, otc., is .i't2s. With complete C.A.V. dlectrlc lighting set (hcatl, side, and tail lamps), the. price is ,£433, and with complete C.A.V. electric lighting set and eelfstarler, the price, is .£4(5.
