AUCKLAND 'ABANDONS REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES. (By TeleEmuh—Pres« Association.) Auckland, April 20. The Auckland Hockey Association decided to-night, in view of the present crisis, to play no representative matches this year, and to discourage pleasuretouring and shield hunting. Members recognised that the war must come first and sport second, but for those left behind it was decided to permit matters to go on as usual as far as club competitions are concerned. The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Pakeha Wednesday Hockey Club: —President, Mr. C. J. Pfaff; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. M'Donald, R. Dwyer, J. Martin, A. D. Thompson, J. M'Eldowney; club can;tain| Mr. C. Clapshaw; vice-captain, Mr. Salek;, secretary, *Mr. P. PagetManagement Committee, Messrs. Lippett, Salek, Sheeran, Paget. Mr. L. JacKsou was made a life-member, and. several now members were elected.
