ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
THE PAEKAKARIKI RAILWAY FATALITY. The man who was fatally injured by being run over by a train at I'aekakariki on Friday lias now been identified as Mr. Charles Thomas Boulton. Mr. Boulton was an old settler of Pahautanui, arid was a single man of 53 year's of. age; T t is surmised' that the •deceased) who was deaf, attempted to cross the line, ■ and be'ng unaware of the approach of the train was knocked down by it. . ' Oii Saturday afternoon an inquest was opened by Mr. G. Cruickshank, S.M., out adjourned again bo that the railway officials might be present. The funeral leaves the residence of deceased's brother at Pahautanui at 2 p.m., to-day ; FOUND IN THE RIVER. IBy Telegraph.—Presf Association.) Wanganul, April 18. _ The body _of a man found in the river on Friday has been identified as that of Edward Clialloner, lately a porter at a local hotel, INFANT DIES FROM BURNS. Auckland, April 17. The one-year-old daughter of Mr. Dacre, a carpenter, of Holensville,. was badly burned by the overturning of a spirit~):imj> alongside her bed, and died from the injuries. MAN'S LEG BROKEN. An. old man named Thomas Wilson, a widower, residing, at 14 Adelaide Road, was admitted to the Hospital on Saturday!suffering.from a broken leg.' The accident was caused through Wilson being knockod down by a boy on a bicycle.
