INTERVIEW WITH BERNHARDI
ATTEMPT TO SOOTHE THE AMERICAN EAGLE London, April 15. Mr, Wiegand, the "New York World's" correspondent (who was said to have interviewed the Pope) has interviewed General von Bernhardi, who said: —"Nothing could be more absurd than the statement that our victory would be a future danger to the United States in South America. If America lias reason to expect a clash with any European Power, that Power is England. The danger lies in England's marine militarism and absolute dominion of the seas. "I emphatically deny that Germany entertains any idea of world conquest. Japan's demands on China are a serious blow to American interests in China. I do not believe this will be the last great war, but wars will become less frequent. I do not'consider.! war between the yellow and whito races is near."
