THE SOUTH CANTERBURY MEETING TWO HORSES KILLED. (By Teleffraipl].—Pr6sa Association.) . Timaru, April 15. The hrst day of the South Canterbury Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting was favoured by fine weather. The new grandstand and luncheon and tea' rooms were formally opened by Mr. T. Teschemaker, one of the oldest supporters of the Turf in South Canterbury. The racing was excellent with many close finishes, even tha Steeplechase being won by a. head, an unusual thing. was marred by two accidents S&ulting in the death of two horses, and the rider of Lady Veles sustained concussion.
