ONSLOW AFFAIRS
The monthly meeting of the Onslow Borough Council was held last night. There were present the Mayor (Mr. C. C. Crump) and Councillors B. Lynnelierg, J. 0. Gardner, L. A. Browne, Colin Munro, 0. Bowdeu, A. H. Hoby, and R. A. Nichol. The Government circular dealing with the need for monthly assistance for the Belgain Relief Fund, etc., was before tho meeting, and it was decided to agres to the Central Committee proposed. Details as to the method to collect the monthly donation required in the borough were discussed, and it was left in the hands of the Mayor to appoint local committees. The Mayor pointed out that the outside amount required from the borough would be about £12 per month. Itwould have /to be raised by voluntary subscription, and not through the rates, but such a small amount' should be easily colleoted.
It was decided to grant tho Royal Middies' Company a refund of the fee Rhargod for the use of the Khandallah Hall.' The Mayor said that the prooeeds were given to the Patriotio Fund, but a great deal of support was not extended to the company. The Hospital and Charitable Aid Board forwarded a copy of their estimates, and also the proposal made to purchase' a milk farm for the supply of milk for the Hospital. On tho motion of Councillor Lynneberg it was decided to hold the communication over till next meeting.
