At 1.30 p.m. yesterday the Union Company's Manuka arrived from Sydney direct, after a fine weather trip across the Tasman Sea. The vessel went on to Lyttelton last evening, pnd will return here to-morrow to time to sail for Sydney and Hobart at 5 p.m. CORINTHIC ARRIVES HOME. According to cable advice received by the head office of the Shnw, Savill and Albion Co., the R.M.S. Corinthic arrived at London from Wellington on Sunday, April 11. RANGITIRA REPORTED. Continuing her journey from St. John to Wellington, the Shaw-Savill liner Bangitira. left Cape Town on Sunday last. Tie vessel will call at Australian ports en route. ORARI ARRIVES HOME. A message has been received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company stating that their steamer Orari, Vrhich cleared Wellington on February 24, arrived at London on April 11. NEW YORK SAILINGS. Advice has been received, in. Wellington stating that the U. S.. and A. Line has chartered the steamer Uaaanstata, 4904 tons (late Falls of Orchy), co takethe loading berth at New York on April 15 for Xew Zealand ports and Anstralia. The same company has charterod the barque Vimeira to load at New York in June for Jlolbourne and Sydney. / MESS TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. Webb, late chief officer of the Pmkaki, has been appointed to the Mokoia. Mr. J. M'Gill has joined the Wahine a» soventh engineer. Messrs. Bannatyne and Co. advise that the Defender will be dispatched for Greymouth and Hokitika, at 4 p.m. to-day. It is anticipated that the Shaw, Savill liner Kumara will leave Wellington for Home on Friday next. Continuing her journey from, Greymouth, the' Union steamer Arahura left Westport at 10 a.m. yesterday for Nelson, Picton, and Wellington. She is due here.this evening. Due at Wellington from Melbourne and Hobart on Saturday, the Paloona will land 350 tons of general cargo at this port before proceeding on to Hobart. R.M.S. lonic is due from Picton next Saturday. She will leave here for London on Thursday, April 22. Advice has been received by the Marine Department that the Hinemoa finished landing stores at East Cape yesterday, and had gone •on to Mercury Bay and Cuvior Island lighthouse. •The management of the Knight Line of steamers (Greenshields, Cowie and Co.), Liverpool, which consists of the Knight Companion. 4625 tons net; Knight of the Garter, 4295 tons; Knight of the Thistle, 4286 tons; Knight Templar, 4602 tons, has for the period of the war been placed in the hands of Messrs. Alfred Holt and Co. Latest charters include the haroue Rona, 618 tons. She will bring a load of coal from Newcastle to Nelson. The Union Company's Tavluni, vrhich arrived at Auckland from the Cook Islands yesterday, will sail again for the Eastern I Pacific at 5 p.m. to-day.
