THE ST. JOHN NURSING GUILD

The monthly committee meeting of the District Nursing Guild of St. John was held at (he residence of Mrs:.W. H. Sefton Moorhouse on Monday. Mrs. Mdorhouse presided, and there were also present Mesdames Tripe and Corrigan, MTss Robieson and the secretary. Apologies were received from Mesdames Pearson and Griffiths. The report of the senior district nurse showed that 34 patients were under tho care of the nurses during March, 18 having remained on the books from February; 14 were discharged, while two died. The total number of visits paid by the nurses was 376. Gifts were received from the following:—Mesdames Denton, Kennedy, Kent, Lissack, M'Lean, Moorhouse, Myers, Richards, and M'Quade, also from the Gear Company, while a case of stout and a pair of new blankets came from anonymous donors. Subscriptions of £1 Is. were acknowledged from Mrs. Burn and Miss Robieson. A letter was read from Nurse Walton, mentioning her temporary absence from duty on account of illness. Tho president (Mrs. W. H. Sefton Moorhouse) gave an account of the farewell social to the nurses who have since loft tfor duty at the front, which was tendered by the Wellington Trained Nurses' Association, and' at which she represented the District Nursing Guild.
