GENERAL MANAGER'S STATEMENT The Mayor and councillors bav« received from the General Mauger of the Tramways the statement of accounts of the Corporation Tramways for the year eroded March 31. They will bo considered by the Tramways Committee at its meeting on Monday. Taking the traffic receipts it will be found that they amount to £155,599, a 6 against £149,197 for last year—an increase of £6402. Wadestown tramway rates amount to £1764, as against £2091 last year, a decreasa of £327. Depreciation has been provided for thi6 year to the amount of £15,207, which is £525 more than the amount sot aside last year for this purpose. ELECTRIC POWER. Tho advantages of electric power aro readily apparent to users, especially where small power only is required. Shafting, and the loss of energy it entails to turn it, is avoided. Spaco, too, i 6 greatly economised where an electric motor displaces engines. With small users electric power is necessarily popular.
