THE IMPERIAL VOICE IN PEACE OF WAR

DOMINIONS MUST BE HEARD (Rec." April 10, 5.5 p.m.) • London, April 9. The "Times," in a leader, says: "Wo aro glad to find that tho question of the participation of the Dominions in the issues of peace or war is being gravely considered by many people in this country. Letters seceived daily show this. It is quite inconceivable that the Government will propose any terms of peace which it does not believe will be approved by the mass of publio opiniou among the British people. To do so would be to challenge defeat and disgrace. "So far as the people of the Dominions are concerned tho Government need have no such personal concern'. Doubtless it will do its best to satisfy the Dominions, but if it doeß not, they will not suffer. All that will happen is that the loyal people of the Dominions will be faced with a, most disheartening alternative, to acquiesce or sever'their connection with the Empire. For them there is no iniddio way. ''That is why we have tried again and again to impress the Government with the necessity of consulting the Dominions before peace is made." — ("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.)
