PREMIERS' CONFERENCE
DEFINITE DATE NOT YET SETTLED (Reo. April 9, IL4O p.m.) Sydney, April 9. The date of the Premiers' Conference has been fixed for May 0, but is likely to be postponed. The real difficulty is the inability of Mr. Massey to get away by a certain date. Both Mr. Fisher and Mr. Holman are particularly desirous that he should be present. It is agreed in all quarters that the occasion is a good ono to cement closer relations between New Zealand and Australia, and for this reason it is hoped that the representation will he absolutely complete. Mr. Holman to-day cabled Mr. Massey, sotting out tho fa<H«. Mr. Holman states that Mr. Fisher informed him that Mr.' Massey had suggested a conference about May 20. If the conference could be arranged so as to have further representation from the Dominion it would bo a good thing, but Mr. Holman's own engagements, he feared, would make it impossible to determine on another date.
