SUBURBS LEAGUE CLUB. The animal meeting of tho Suburbs League Football Club was held in tho Tramway Hotel.. Newtown, last night. Mr. W. Martin presided, and there was a-i attendance of about a dozen. Tho balance-sheet was presented to the meeting and showed a collection of about £15 for the first year. 'I'he balance in hand was £3 Is. 6d., with several subscriptions still to come in. There was a membership of about fort.Y. stated the chairman. Tho balance-sheet was adopted, but the annual report was not placed before the meeting. The chairman reported that seven members were with the Expeditionary Force, and two more were enlisting. The club record showed that nine matches were played. Seven were won and two lost, and the points scored were: For, 156; against, 79. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. J. W. Campbell (re-elected); president, Mr. J. L. Flemming (re-elected) j vice-presidents, thirteen (re-elected); secretary and treasrurer, Mr. Arthur Donaldson; manage, mc-nt committee. Messrs. J. Parker, L. Campbell, and F. Manning, with power to add to their number; delegates to the union, Messrs. "W. Martin and W. Leatham; auditors. Messrs. Manning and' Patterson. About twenty new members were nominated. It was decided that training should be done at Newtown Park. CHRISTC.HURCH COMPETITIONS TO GO ON. (By Teleerai>h.—Press Association.! Chrlstohuroh, April 8. Tlie Canterbury Rugby Union la6fc evening decided to proceed with the competitions as usual this year. The decision was arrived at on the unanimous recommendation of the affiliated clubs, which wer© all able to enter teams, although in most cases this was to be done by promotions. BOWLING

The Upper Hutt cricketers journeyed to Masterton durum ' Easter and tried conclusions with the Welch family of cricketers, and after a most enjoyable game, extending over two days, wore victorious by one wicket and ill runs. On Good Friday evening the visitors were the guests of Mr. Fred V> elch at a musical evening, which was greatly appreciated by all. Following arc the principal scorers for the visitors:—J. The annual teams' matches between the Karori Rifle Club and the Suburbs Rifle Club will be fired at Trentham on Saturday over ranges 300, 500, and 600 yards, two teams of ten men aside. Tho annual meeting of the Metropolitan Hockey Club was further adjourned last night as there was not a sufficient number present to form a quorum.
BILLIARDS YOUTHFUL TIMARU CHIMPION. Mr. Clark MJacConakey, of Timaru, the youthful champion billiardist of New Zealand, gave a second successful exhibition of Billiards at the Workingmen's Club last evening, when he defeated the club champion, Mr. J. Keys. _The visitor, conceding his opponent 350 points in a game of 750 up, defeated him by 200 points. The winner's highest break was 224, his other breaks being 69, 64, 57, 58, 47, and 41. Mr. Keys's play was good.all-round billiards, and he mado sevpral breaks of 20, 30, and 35. The average points scored by the winner on his visits to the table were 17. ■ Pla-ying a practice match yesterday morning, MacConakey mado a break of 203, followed by breaks of 61 and 57.
