MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL
At last night's meeting of the Miramar Borough Council, tho Mayor.(Mr. F. Townsend) presided, and there were also present: Councillors S. M. Stone, H. A. Smith, S. H. Underwood, H. Hawthorne, M. Tracy, and Dr. Edith Huntley. Tho Mayor reported that a resident of the borough (Mr. Clifford) had been appointed ranger. Circular letters were received from rTTT^r Is^er Finance and the Mavor of Wellington in regard to tho Belgian Relief Fund. It was resolved that tho necessary should bo taken to ensure the contribution (about £11 per month) required from the borough on population basis, Mr. T. W. Boon notified the council of his inability to coutinue in the position of captain of the volunteer fire brigade. The Mavor and councillors r e £>refc that Mr. Boon was unable to continue in th& position of captain, but wero pleased that he was not severing his connection with tJie brigade. A resolution was placed on the minutes recording the council's appreciation of Mr. Boon's past services.
