The "Times," in a leading article' on the subject, says: "Now that the drink question is being fully and freely dismissed, we may say that the broad sentiment of the nation dislikes' the idea tof complete and compulsory Prohibition, though that would probably be accepted Jf the Government emphatically declared it to be desirable and necessary, aet the English race does not like extremes, aiid specially abhors extreme bieasures enacted as law."
