PLANT DESTROYED AT MOUNT LYELL. Hobart, April 6. The air-comnressing _ plant at the Mount Lyell Blocks mine lias been destroyed. The damaee is estimated at £3000. Twenty men have been thrown out of work. HEAVY RAINS IN NEW SOUTH • WALES. (Reo. April 6, 9.45 p.m.) Sydney, April 6. Uninterrupted and heav.y rain lias fallen throughout the day, and there arc no sizns of it clearing. The rainfall is widesnread, and will be of immense benefit to tlio country. QUEENSLAND CABINET CHANGES. (Rec. April 6, 9.45 p.m.) Brisbane, April 6. The Hon. W. f. Paget has retired from the Ministry. Colonel Rankin has been appointed Minister of Railways (held by Mr. Pacot sinco 1911). and Mr. Doiifrlas Ims been appointed an honorary Minister.
