PRINTING TRADES CONFERENCE
A conference of delegates of printina and allied trades unions is at present being held in Wellington, and is presided over by Mr. J. W. F. M'Dougall,' president of the New Zealand Federated Typographical Association, tbe conveners of the conference. The following are the delegates ers' Unions: Auckland, Mr. A. Rosser; Wellington, Mr. E. J. Wiifin. Letterpress and Lithographic Machinists' Unions: Auckland, Mr. J. M'lnnarney; Wellington, Mr. R. H. Hustler ; Canterbury, Mr. E. Wilson; Otago, Mr. A. :H. Hind. Typographical Unions: Auckland, Mr. F. A. Cleveland; Gisborne, Mr. M. G. Nasmith; Wellington, Mr. F. W. Swift; Nelson, Sir. T. M'lntyre; Westland, Mr. R. E. Vaney; Canterbury, Mr. C. Renn; Otago, Mr. R. Ferguson; Southland, Mr. F. W. Swift. Mr. J. Harper, secretary of the Typographical Federation, is secretary of the conference, which promies to be most successful. The object of the conference is the federating of tbe printing and allied trades and the motion that such a federation bs established was carried unanimously. The- title decided on was "The New Zealand Federated Printing' and Allied Trades Industrial Association of Workers." Tho conference is at present engaged in drafting a set of rules, and it is expected that its deliberations will be concluded to-day. On Saturday afternoon the visiting delegates were taken round the city or. the observation car, and in the evening were the guests of the local unions at a dinner.
