1 'ATTRACTIONS FOR TO-DAY. Given tlie fine weather that is promised, holiday-makers will lind no paucity in diversions to-day. Those who love to see his majesty the horse in action will havo the option of two meetings. that of the I'eilding Jockey Club ,at leilding,_ and the Wairarapa Racing Club's Meeting at Tauhereniltau. Thero is also the Caledonian Society's sports gathering at Palmersten North for those who have no objection to a train journey. The AVahin&r-the clipper of the ferrv servico—will make a trip to Picton, leaving the Queen's Wharf at 7.45 a.m., and arriving back about 7.30 p.m. The tennis championship tourney will be continued on the courts at Day's Bay, and the golf tourney at Miramar, and in town the Wellington Bowling Centre's pairs tournament, • which is also to benefit the Belgian Fund, will be continued. At Day's Bay an al fresco carnival will be held in aid of the Belgian Fund. The ladies of Eastbourne have been working hard for eome time past to provide plenty of entertainment lor local folk and trippers, and the result should be satisfactory to everyone. A special ferry service has been arranged, including a steamer which will leave for town at midnight. In the evening "Da Barry" will be performed again at the Opera House by the Nellie Stewart Company, but. there will be no matinee performance. Holi' day programmes of an especially attractive character, will be presented ot the King's, Everybody's, and Empress Theatres, and tho People's Picture Palace, and at His Majesty's Theatre a number pf new artists will figure in a very satisfactory bill.
