EASTER HOLIDAYS
BIG CROWDS AT PLAY. Saturday was gloriously fine—not over-warm, but clear, crisp, 6unny, and calm. The gale blew itself out on. Friday evening, and, after the storm, the calm. Large crowds took advantage of the fine day to attend private picnics or to patronize the several public outings. The harbour ferries were kept busy all day, chiefly carrying people to and from the tennis tournament and the eastern buys. All trains carried big loads of human freight. The Tauhorenikau races induced 551 passengers to make the trip over the Rimntakas. The City trams had a busy time in the early portion of the day, taking peoplo out to tho suburbs, particularly the seaside places. In the evening the loading back Ui tho City was exceedingly heavy.
