, . London, March 81. . An official messago from Simla states that 10,000 tribesmen made an attack ou the Tochi River (Indian North-West frontier provinces), near Miranshah. They were driven. aoross the Durand line. 200 being killed and 300 wounded. The tribes concerned were mainly Zadraus and a few Mangals. They were opposed by two squadrons of cavalry, a mountain battery, the 10th Jats, the 52nd Sikhs, and tho North Waziristan Militia, all under the command of Briga-dier-General Fane.

A reconnaissance later showed 120 traco of tie marauders.
