Barr, secretary of the Dunediu Chamber of Commerce, .yesterday sent the following telegram to tho Prime Minister"Australian buyers oats demanding execution existing contracts. Does proclamation prohibiting export absolutely preclude this? Buyers claim it does not." Later in the day the following reply was received from Mr. Massey:—"Prohibition applies to contracts'. Information being collected with view ascerfaihing total quantity for which contracts made. When this is available, matter will be further considered, and decision conveyed to you."
