All the work was registered on the outsido of tho course proper, which was heavy after tho recent rains. Bedford beat Tangiwai over seven furlongs in lmin. 35 l-ssec. Hygenis did live furlongs in lmin. 17 1-ssec. Colonel Soult showed better than Bluestone over the same distance in lmin. 9sec. ' Goldsize went a mile from the now post. - Red Book finished stronger' than Ventura over seven ■ furlongs in lmin. 36 2-ssec Hoy : did the same distance in lmin, SGsec. Downham 'was in front of Bon Reve over the same journey. Centre covered five, furlongs in lmin. 6soc—a good gallop. Tact beat Prince Soult over six furlongs in lmin. 22 3-ssec. Mullingarwas better than Jack Delaval over the same distance in lmin. 21 l-ssec. Merry Koe, under a sttong pull, kept with Castalia, over a milo from the.new post, in lmin. 50 l-ssec. After breakfast, Desert Gold beat Beldame over six furlougs in lmin. 23 1-5 gee. Tete-a-tete was a length in front of Balboa at the end of seven furlongs in lmin. 37 3-ssec. Helsingfors went four furlongs in 53 l-ssec. Maui Nina did the fastest gallop of the morning—seven furlongs in lmin. 33 3-5 sec., defeating Phosphorus by 3sec., Lady Alicia beat Pacific Slope over five furlongs, from tho now post, in lmin. 8 2-ssec. Kitty Bellairs did same work in lmin. *6 l-ssec. Toreador made a hack of Worcester over fivo furlongs in lmin. 9sec. Soultane and Gold Necklet were together from the fivo furlongs new post m lmin. 7 2-ssec. Admiral Soult and Dandy Breeze were together a dozen lengths in front of Gloy in a round of the schooling hurdles, the trio fencing well. Black Northern refused to start with the above, but afterwards did a similar task alone.Prophet did a round over the hurdles, fencing well.. , ' . „ , . Captain Jack, Nat Lupin, Captain Pine, Hassan, and Bob did a round over the big country. The two first-named stopped. Hassan fell.
