BATHING MATTERS
CORPORATION PROPOSALS.' The following resolutions of interest to bathers were passed by the City Council last evening:— "That tho City Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and estimates for additions to the custodian's quarters, and alterations to platforms, etc., at the To Aro Baths." "That provision be made 011 the estimates for the coming year for the construction of a bathing shed for both women and men at Ballena Bay." "That provision be made 011 the next year's estimates for the erection of additional accommodation for 200 malo and 300 female bathers at Kilbirnie." "That tho free passes granted for school children who gain swimming proficiency certificates he extended to one year from the date of issue, so long 'as tlie holders remain at school, in lieu of the present system of issuing passes for the season within which tho certificate is gained." "That the Maranui Surf and Life Saving Club be granted the donation of £10 towards the funds of their gala held on the Lyall Bay Beach on Easter, 1914, payment of which was authorised by the council ou April 20, 1914, and later cancellod by a rescinding resolution."
