ATHLETICS

THE UNIVERSITY TOURNAMENT. The annual Inter-College Tournament of the University Colleges of New Zealand is being held this year ill Auckland at Easter. As usual there will be contests in athletics, tennis, and debating._ Owing to the majority of 'Varsity boxing men being at the front, it was found necessary to abandon the boxing contest for this year. The net proceeds of tho tournament are being given to the Belgian Fund which should benefit considerably as the sports meeting will be the chief holiday attraction (with tho exception of the races) in Auckland. Tho teams from tho southern colleges leave here by the Slain Trunk trajn at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Tho following is the complete team from Victoria University College:— Manager: Mr. J. C. M'Dowall.
