TWO DEATHS HEALTH OF SAMOAN CARRISON
Dofence- Headquarters, Wellington, have been advised of the deaths of two members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Private Joseph Stanley Remnant, a member of the main body, died at Albany Hospital on March 19 from pleurisy, which had followed upon pneumonia. His next of kin was his mother, Mrs. W. Remnant, of To Matai, "Palmerston North, who is at present in Albany. Private Gordon Duncan Mackay, of "A" Company, Third Reinforcements, died at sea on March 14 from_ <heat apoplexy. Deceased's next of kin was his father, Mr. Duncan Macliav, of Waipu, North Auckland. The Garrison at Samoa. Dofence Headquarters have received from Colonel Logan the following report oil the health of the troops in Samoa for the week ending March 27: — "The liealtli of the troops is fair.
"Wellington Regiment.—Privates V. R. Bernard, debility; G. Bowater, colitis; Corporal A. S. Crowthcr, dengue fever; Sergeant N. G. Gallier, dengue fever; Private I. L. Hook, colitis; Lance-Corporal. A. J. Larsen, septic ankle; Privates R. L. Mason, synovitis of knee'; E. E. Rivers, acute gastritis; L. H. Smith, injury to knee. • "Auckland Regiment.—L. Errington, debility and renal trouble; Sergeant Hogan, G.N., debility and renal trouble. "Railway Engineers.—Sappers T. D. Dalton, anaemia; E. L. Llovd, renal calculus; C. Stadem, filiariasis; It. L. White, sprained ankle. "Army Service Corps.—Corporal E. H. Ure, enlarged tonsils. "All doing well."
