WAIRARAPA TEACHERS INSTITUTE
(By T«lecraph,~BrMfal Oorresponaaut.t Masterton, March 28. At a general meeting of the Wairarapa Teachers' Institute on Saturday Messrs. F._ L. Combs and D. E. Leslie were nominated as delegates to the annual conference of the New Zealand Educational Institute to be held in Wellington in July. This is the first year that the Wairarapa, Institute has been entitled to separate conference representation. Nominations aro receivable up to March 31 at Masterton. The following have consented to lecture before the institute during the year—Miss A. D. Bright, Professor T. A. Hunter, Inspector F. H. Bakewell, M.A.. Mr. J. S! Tennant, M.A., and Mr: A. Morgan, M.Sc. Among the remits passed for presentation to the annual meeting were the following:— "That a permanent secretary and journal editor at a salary of £400 a year be appointed to the New Zealand Educational Institute. "That visits be paid at least once » year by a member of tho New Zealand Educational Institute to district institutes and branch institutes. "That all subscriptions to tho institute be doubled. "That the annual conference set up a committee to report to tho next conference regarding the grading of men and women teachers.
