INSULATED SHIPS
SCHEME FOR SDI'PLY. | The Prime Minister has received the ' following letter from Mr. J. Finlay, superintendent in New Zealand for the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company, and president of the New Zealand Overseas Shipowners' Committee: — "I have to advise you that in accordance with the agreement arrived at in London between the Imperial Government and the shipping companies trading to New Zealand, the shipping companies' representatives in New Zealand have formed a committee and are in communication with the London Shipowners' Committee as to the supply of insulated tonnage which can be made available for the carriage of refrigerated cargo from New Zealand in connection with the conveyance of maat for Imperial Government purposes. The committee will keep you advised from time to time of the tonnage which has been placed at its disposal, and its intention and earnest endeavour are to advance what we believe to bo the desire of the Imperial Government to furnish as prompt and regular dispatches as circumstances will permit."
