Sennett has left 'Wellington for Auckland for the purpose of attending a conference of the Industrial Association and the Empire Trade League in connection with the scheme for the establishment of the Board of Trade and Industries. Douglas, the open golf ohampion of the Dominion, intends to compete at the Australian championships, to be held at Sydney nest September. The champion has established in New Zealand a record that will take some breaking. Since landing here some two years ago he has • won the Open Championship of New Zealand, 1913 and 1914; Professional Championship of New Zealand, 1914; Christmas Tournament, Trentham, Wellington. 1914. In 1913 he was runner-up in this event. Mr. Douglas holds the record for the following links: —Dunedin, 71; Nelson, 70; Wanganui, 71. He has also holed out at Trentham in 70 (record 68)'; and Auckland 71 (record 70). At the age of 19, in the Scottish Professional Championships, held at Cardross, Glasgow. Mr. Douglas finfslie'd 15th out of a large field of about '2(JO. During the last five years, competing inluornaments held in England, America-, and New Zealand,. ho his always been in the prize list.

Mr. J. W. Collins, of the Wellington Labour Department, who is at present in Auekalnd, will return to Wellington on Monday.
