WOOL, SKIN, HIDES, AND TALLOW SALES. Messrs. Levin and Co report on their hide and skin sales, held on Wednesday, as follows:—Sheepskins: There was a very strong demand, and priccs, for halfbrcd, medium, coarse, and fine crossbred advanced a halfpenny. Lambs were up a halfpenny, wo sold a lot of fine crossbred at record price for Wellington. Wo quote:—Fine crossbred, llld.; medium coarse crossbreds, IOJd. to llid.; short to half-wools, BJd. to 9}d.; dead and damaged crossbred, BJd. to 9jd.; inferior and badly damaged, 41d to 75d.; lambs. 9Jd. to Hid.; damp, salted, and green, 5». to 7s. ,9d ; pelts. 3s. 6d. to ss. 3d. Hides.—Prices for. all classes of hides wore considerably easier owing to the lower tone of the Australian market and difficulty regarding shipments to America. Ab the tallow sales 1524 caske were offered and 901 sold. Prices realised:—Mutton, fine, 425. 9d. ;* medium, 38e.; beef, fine, 435.; medium, 37b 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received, the following cablegram from London, dated March 24:—"Tallow: We quote present sjiot values for the following descriptions:— Fine mutton, 40s. 3d. per cwt.; good beef, 38s. 6<J, per cwt.; mixed, 365. 3d. iper cwt.
