THE POSTAL ARRANGEMENTS. The Postal authorities advise that on Gbod Friday, April 2, the Postal Department will be closed in all itE 'branches. Mails for dispatch' by steamers will clo6e at 8 p.m. on the previous evening, and the only dispatches of correspondence by trains will closo *>n Good Friday as follows:—For the [Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, ;Rangitikei, _Wanganui, and Taranaki districts at 0.40 a.m.; for Auckland and /Auckland district at 8 a.m. The city and suburban receivers will not be cleared during the day, but the midnight clearances will ha made as usual. There will not be any deliveries by lettercarriers on Good Friday, hut on Thursday, April 1, the carriers' department (upstairs from. Featherston Street) will 1)0 open for the delivery of correspondenco addressed to streets in the city and suburbs from 8 to 9 p.m.; also the public counter for the delivery of correspondence addressed to the Post Offioa will be open from 8 to 9 p.m. The. parcels-delivery counter will be open from 8 .to 9 p.m. On Easter Monday, April 5, the Chief Post Office will be open in all its branches (except. Money-order and Savings Bank) from 9to 10 a.m. Mails for aispatch by steamers will close at 8 a.m., and the only dispatches of correspondence by trains will close as follows :-For the Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay. Manawatu, Rangitikei, Wanganui, and Taranaki districts at 5.45 a.m. ! for Auckland and Auckland district at 8 a.m. There will be no delivery of correspondence by letter-carriers in the city or suburbs in tbo afternoon, for .which must be posted at the Chief Post Office by 1.40 p m On Easter Monday the city and suburban receivers will not be cleared during the day, but the night clearances Ml be made as usual.
