All day • vesterday ,the Land Board Office was crowded wit'h farmers and people desirous of becoming farmers who were applicants for a pieee of land in the Featherston County. Tha land, is 632 acres in extent and is mapped as Section 15 Block 16, and known as the Hikawera Settlement. _ _ , , There were 118 applicants. The land iras ballotted for, and the result was that the holding goes to Janet Nichol, of Martinborough. The holding is about twelve miles out of Martinborough by metalled dray road. The capital value is £5730, and the half-yearly rental £130 Is.
