INTER-IMPERIAL TRADE
EXHIBITION OF BRITISH TRADE GOODS. A', .communication was received by the Council of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce from the Dunedin Chamber, detailing the substance of letters received-from the British Imperial Coiuidil of Commerce, London, in relation to the extension of inter-Imperial i'trade. in which an appeal is made to all Chambers to assist in indicating tho -best methods of supplanting German and Austrian trade by Imperial interchange of commodities, and drawing attention to those departments of commerce which are principally affected by the stoppage of the-trade hitherto carTied on between "enemy" countries and tile Empire. Letters received from other Chambers suggest tho holding of exhibitions of British trade goods, and information is just to liand stating that the Board of Trado intends to hold a British Trade Fair in the Agricultural Hall, London, in May. This exhibition will bo limited to samples of manufactures in certain specified lines, such as toys, fancy goods, stationery, etc., exhibited by manufacturers in order to book contracts; and will be followed by similar exhibitions for other lines.
